Monitoring your blood pressure at home has never been more convenient — or more important. Electronic blood pressure monitors come in two main types: wrist and upper arm. While both are suitable for healthy adults, we strongly recommend the upper arm (arm-type) model for elderly users, as it delivers significantly more accurate readings.
It's important to note that wrist-type monitors are not recommended for individuals with circulation-related conditions. Diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension can accelerate arterial hardening and impair peripheral circulation — making wrist readings unreliable. For these patients, as well as older adults, an upper arm blood pressure monitor is the safer, more accurate choice.
